Marion began a string of six straight NCO championships, while AHS would finish second 4 times. The all-NCO linemen Cliff Cothren and Bill Berry stopped Shelby at the one-foot line in one of the great moments in AHS history. The A's ended Wooster's 13-game winning streak. Marshall Mumaw led the team in scoring again with 24-points.
Mansfield stomped the A's again, so the Athletic Dept. said, "Enough you're too big and just one more game next year."
