AHS fans waited with eager anticipation for the '82 season. The billboards and bumper sticks boasted "I love the Arrows." New coach Larry Baldridge greeted 18 lettermen, and hoped to bring the winning tradition from his alma mater Shelby. But, disappointment reigned again. Three QBs could not replace Todd Wait, the defense gave up 274 points (the second worst in AHS history), and the only victory was far away at Coshocton. The team awards went to linemen Ken Busch and Pat Phillip and to backs Dan Mager and the MVP Todd Smeltzer.
