The 10th straight losing season with only 19 wins by five head coaches, but the grid fate looked rosy. The first year in the new high school on King Road, the last season at Redwood Stadium, four wins, and a three-way tie for the Cardinal Conference championship made '62 an eventful year. MVP Bruce Cooper had 142-yard nights against Madison and Dover. The most outstanding awards went to linemen: Bob Slack and Ray Johnson and backs: Jim Minnich and Rod Moore.
