2024
Simply put, the 118th season of Ashland football was one of the greatest in program history.
The 2024 Arrows won their first 12 games, a feat accomplished just once before (2006), as the team put together just the fifth undefeated regular season in AHS history. They captured their first outright OCC title since 2011 in the process.
Ashland collected one of its biggest home wins ever when it knocked off traditional Ohio powerhouse St. Francis DeSales in the second round of the playoffs. The Arrows’ offense – led by the greatest junior season of any quarterback in program history from Nathan Bernhard – also scored their second-most points in a season (440, 33.8 per game).
Bernhard was named a first-team All-Ohioan, throwing for 2,895 yards and 24 TDs (and only 4 INTs), while also running for 1,221 yards and 22 TDs. His performance at West Holmes (522 total yards of offense and 8 total TDs) may have been the best single-game outing ever by an AHS quarterback.
With junior LB Gunner Lacey (140 tackles, 29 TFLs, 9 sacks) also named first-team All-Ohio and senior DB Tyler Sauder (129 tackles, 4 INTs) named second-team, it marked the first time since 2009 that the Arrows had three players named either first- or second-team All-Ohio.
